The detail in the characters, Vito especially, is quite impressive. The upgraded graphics are wonderful, especially considering this is an upscale and not a full remake.

The free upgrades were announced alongside the first official details on Mafia: Definitive Edition. In fact, the game will automatically update to the Definitive Edition if you have the original installed on your console already, and you can claim the extra content packs in the various digital stores, as well.
Mafia III's upgrade is free on all platforms (PS4, Xbox One, and PC) and grants access to all of the post-launch DLC. Fans of the Mafia series are also getting some free content in the form of Definitive Edition upgrades for Mafia II and Mafia III.
